Barbizon Midwest's Actress Lauren Storm

As of yesterday, “Munger Road” is now available for purchase and to rent from such places as iTunes, Amazon, Blockbuster, Family Video and video on demand services according to filmmaker Nick Smith.

The movie, which filmed in St. Charles, Bartlett, Elburn, Geneva, and Sugar Grove, is about a group of teens exploring Munger Road, where a tragedy occurred years earlier. The film centers on two small town cops who begin a search for four teens who go missing the night before the town’s annual Scarecrow Festival.

Barbizon Midwest’s Lauren Storm stars as Rachel Donahue, Scott’s girlfriend. Scott is played by Hallock Beals. Rachel is a sarcastic teenager with a lot of attitude. A popular Munger Road tale says at one time a train hit a school bus filled with children stalled on the train tracks, killing everyone inside. According to the legend, if someone shifts a car into neutral over the tracks and dusts powder on the back window, then hands will appear to be pushing the car off of the tracks.

Production on the sequel to “Munger Road” will begin next spring. It will pick up the moment the first movie ends, therefore taking place on the day of the Scarecrow Festival and filming locally.

Smith said the movie is scheduled to return to Charlestowne 18 on September 18th. For those of you who have seen it, or do see it, let us know what you think!
