Barbizon Minneapolis graduate Michael Adrian, whose acting repertoire includes the NBC hit show "Community!" and the CBS crime drama "Cold Case" has been furthering his career with Disney! First through roles on the teen comedy "Victorious" and most recently has become a regular member on the disney.com weekly series "Rule the Mix" (Below. His character's name is Proto-Jay)

Both shows are set in the Sunshine state, and both feature rather fabulous dancing! Please feel free to check them out and see this "Barbizonian" in action! Rule the Mix has a new episode every Friday!

Michael attended the IMTA a few years back, were he received the Model and Actor of the year award, since then his career has soared, and we are proud to see him fly!

This weekend, January 28th & 29th , marks the audition for the upcoming International Modeling and Talent Agency (IMTA) conference in New York, New York!! Many of the stars featured in the video got their start at Barbizon Modeling and Talent! The International Modeling and Talent Association is an alliance of the world’s most successful modeling and talent schools. Founded in 1987, they have been working for decades to find and establish “top talent.” Today you see their finds everywhere. Having just returned from the 2012 Los Angeles IMTA Convention, the Barbizon Midwest attendees are still celebrating many victories from the week. Coming To You From The City of Angels: Barbizon Midwest & The IMTA!!

This past week marked the 2012 Los Angeles Edition of the International Modeling and Talent Association’s convention. Close to 50 of Barbizon Midwest brightest stars were in attendance for the experience of a lifetime! Over the course of the week the group participated in competitions, dances, and dinners. They mingled with hundreds of the world’s top talent agents and casting directors. Most importantly they had an absolute blast, growing as performers in the process.

For those of you unfamiliar with the IMTA, it is an International organization that has a self-realized objective of finding and bringing to light; great talent. For decades the Association has been making stars!! Eva Longoria, Ashton Kutcher, Katie Holmes, Brandon Routh, Jessica Biel, Alyson Stoner, and countless others got their start on the legendary stages of the IMTA! It is absolutely impossible to turn on the television, watch a movie, or read a magazine without seeing someone discovered by the organization at one of their invitation-only conventions.

Below you can see what our LA assemblage was up to during the week. As previously stated they had the time of their lives doing what they have hoped for and dreamed about for years!

Above you can see Jeff B. and his girlfriend dining and enjoying an evening of rare free time. The IMTA is also a fantastic place for beginning models and actors to socialize and network with others of similar goals and interests. Currently you can find Jeff in a national AT&T commercial campaign. He has been acting in Los Angeles for over six years, and appeared as a special guest for this convention.

Below is a group shot of Barbizon attendees from Kalamazoo before the team runway competition, which they eventually went on to win! The convention is a great chance for aspiring talent to become more comfortable in areas in which they have not yet experienced competition.

Barbizon Midwest and Secret Tag Team: Hey Bullies, Go wash Up! Mean Stinks!

Yet again we have a Barbizon Midwest grad taking a stand against bullies!! Schaumburg Grad Grace Juriga was recently selected for a Secret national campaign entitled “Mean Stinks.” It was a monumental effort on the part of Secret Deodorant to start a national movement against bulling. Mean Stinks now has a Facebook, and Youtube page, a line of t-shirts and thousands of followers; Girls telling stories about their experiences in being bullied and girls apologizing for their behavior. This campaign isn’t about selling a stick of deodorant it’s about bringing people together, and we at Barbizon are so proud of Grace for her involvement.

As 2011 draws to a close, we thought it would be fantastic to profile some of these years most active graduates! Take a look to see what they’ve been up to!

Alicia Svenson

Michigan Grad Alcia Svenson spent the year in Hollywood! After graduating High School Alicia moved to California to pursue her dreams of becoming an actress, and well…she made it! She auditioned for a part in the 2010 movie The Social Network and was told by the casting director almost immediately that the role was hers. Alcia can be seen as the actress that played the first girlfriend of Sean Parker.

Lauren Storm

Lauren started her career as Taylor Hagan on the TV series Flight 29 down. She has also been seen in I love you Beth Cooper (Treece Kilmer), The Game Plan (appearing alongside “The Rock”), and The Roommate. Most recently you saw her as Rachael Donahue in Munger Road, the thriller/horror that appeared in theatres in October. The Chicago grad has been acting since age 10 and is currently working on the film My Eleventh.

Breanna Lynn

Barbizon Midwest musician Breanna will be coming out with her first album in 2012. She has her own Youtube channel on which you can see her current songs and interests! She had a role in the film Son’s of Tucson and is currently working on the animated movie Dorothy of OZ (2012). She is huge on the anti-bullying front and recently posted an original song in response to a young boy who did a video on how he has been bullied. Both can be seen on Youtube.

Jeremy Torres

Schaumburg Grad Jeremy was recently seen in the Columbia College student film The Christmas Tree. The movie received Best in Show at the 2011 Weisman Award Exhibition!

Christian and Connor Kramme

Siblings Christian and Connor have had a busy year! Both have appeared in national television series recently. Christian, who is big on the independent film circuit, was featured in the CSI: New York episode Justified. His brother Connor has been in several major motion pictures and has been casted for several episodes of Nickelodeon’s Icarly.

Barbizon talent Sara Niemietz is an incredibly talented singer, songwriter and guitarist. She booked roles on the TV shows Providence and Gilmore Girls as well as the film, Akeelah & the Bee. Most recently, Sara had the honor of performing with legendary Emmy award-winning guitarist Snuffy Walden.

Katrina Hoernig

Since graduating High School in 2010, she has become the favorite of designer, Marc Jacobs. Showcasing his clothes on the runways of NYC, London, Paris and Milan. She has graced the covers of Velvet and Riviera magazines. She also profiles the clothes of up and coming designer Charlotte Ronson.

Chase

Sierra & Chase Vasquez

Both Sierra and Chase (brother and sister) have done several major print advertisements in 2011. Chase has been seen in ad's for Kohl's, Quaker Oats and Cooked Perfect. His sister Sierra appeared in the LTD Holiday Catalog, and did work for Walgreens that can be seen in stores all over the country.

Tornu

Earlier this year Tornu was seen in a commercial for the Oprah Winfrey Network, and most recently was featured as “The Tie Guy” in the national Western Union campaign.

Victoria Addis

Victoria won a national contest to appear in Seventeen Magazine and was profiled in the November issue. The Barbizon Moline Grad has had modeling opportunities in both California and New York in the past year.

Michael Adrian

Michael has a long repertoire of Films including; Luna Park, Resistance and Twi Harder. His television appearances are just as numerous; Community, Victorious, and Cold Case. As well, he appears as a regular on the hit Disney show Rule the Mix.

Blake Goldman

Barbizon talent Blake was recently chosen to be an extra on the new Starz network television series Boss starring Kelsey Grammar.

Amy Flannigan

Amy booked a featured role the FOX television series, The Chicago Code, and will be playing ‘young Teresa’ in an upcoming episode.

Mackie Atteberry

Here’s an idea! While attending Bradley University, Mackie auctioned for and received commercials for Mission Investment Fund and Six Flags Great America. What an awesome way to make money in college!

This year Barbizon Midwest Grad Jeff Braine booked a guest appearance on the popular CBS sitcom, How I Met Your Mother.

For the past 5 years Annika has traveled all over the world performing with performing artist group, Pilobous. This year the dancers did a special performance on America's Got Talent. Last year it they were at the Academy Awards.

Singing a Message: One Barbizon Midwest Grad’s Fight against Cruelty

Breanna Lynn is a Barbizon Midwest musician. Her YouTube channel profiles her original songs, and she has an album coming out in 2012. Most recently Breanna spoke out, or rather sang out, against a huge problem the children of this country are facing. Bullying has become a major issue in schools all over the world. But thanks to the internet it has become easier to speak out against the bully’s in the school system. In response to a video posting on YouTube by a boy who has for a long time been the victim of such attacks, Breanna wrote and produced a song entitled “Loved.” She also posted a 2nd video filled with more encouraging messages for kids whose lives have been affected by bullies. Both Video’s can be viewed below.

This amazing young woman has not just limited her career to singing, she has appeared in Son’s of Tucson and is currently working on the Animated film Dorothy of Oz.

Holiday “Cheer” for Barbizon Midwest Grad!

This past weekend Barbizon Wisconsin graduate Madison Uebelacker stared as Lucille in the First Stage Theatre Academy’s production of June B. in Jingle Bells Batman Smells. There to congratulate her on the performance was Barbizon Midwest’s President Charles Nemes. Pictured below is a shot of her onstage, and would you look at the smile! The 10 year old has had a great year, and things look promising for the young actress!

Earlier this year Madison appeared alongside Nora Jones and Seth Macfarlane in the New Mark Wahlberg film ‘Ted.’ She was also seen on an episode of the new Starz series ‘Boss’ staring Kelsey Grammer. After completion of the June B. production Madison and her family will be moving to Hollywood, California where she has signed a 2 year management contract. Congratulations Madison! The next we hear from her will be coming from the City of stars!

Black Friday with Friday’s: Barbizon Midwest Grads Brave the Crowds and Cold

The busiest shopping day of the year, and these kids were out working the crowds! T.G.I. Friday’s selected close to thirty Barbizon Midwest Graduates from Wisconsin, Nebraska, Iowa, and Minnesota to promote their restaurant on November 25th more commonly known as black Friday. The grads donned red and black and visited shopping centers to pass out flyers and talk with customers in lines about the restaurant which was having a special event for their patrons.

Barbizon Wisconsin graduate, Sierra Vazquez, was recently chosen for the LTD Holiday Catalog. This is the second print booking that Sierra has landed recently; a few weeks ago she was featured in Walgreens advertisements around the country. To the left is the interactive pet ad that she appeared in, and below are a couple shots from previous bookings. With her cute dimples and beautiful blue eyes, we are sure to see more of her in the future!

Her brother Chase is another very active Barbizon Wisconsin Grad. He has also been chosen to appear in print work with such companies as Quaker Oats, Cooked Perfect, and Kohl’s (to the right). Barbizon Midwest’s Karena Steir Stops Traffic!

Stilettos are perfect for the runway. Their sleek and sexy look can give a confident look to any woman, but when Barbizon Instructor Karena Steir donned a pair of these 4 inch heels on October 21st, it defiantly wasn’t for a fashion show. The model and actress completed the 13.1 mile Des Moines Half Marathon wearing a very stylish pair of strappy black stilettos.

Definitely not the most practical kind of footwear for such an adventure, but it was for a good cause. Steir is an avid advocate against human trafficking, and she felt that the marathon was a perfect platform on which to send a message. Strutting confidently down the pavement in her heels, and bold “Girls Are Not For Sale” t-shirt (above), Steir set a precedent with every step.

“I got passed by almost everyone in the half marathon and half of the people in the full marathon, but I didn’t care—that just meant more people got to see my shirt."

Steir began her career after competing in the IMTA at the age of 16. During high school and college she landed numerous acting and modeling opportunities, and then decided to test her luck in the City of Angels. There Karena broke into the other side of modeling industry as an agent. After seven years in Los Angeles Karena decided move back home, and currently instructs classes for Barbizon Midwest in Des Moines, Omaha, and Kansas City.

You know who she is, how could you not? This past year Barbizon Midwest-Schaumburg talent Katrina has been almost everywhere a young and gorgeous model could want to be; Milan, New York City, Paris, London. She been in fashion shoots and shows all over the globe!

In June, donning a fabulous outfit from the Louis Vuitton spring collection, she appeared on the cover of Velvet magazine. A favorite of Marc Jacobs She was also featured in their Fall/Winter 2011 fashion show in NYC and has also been booked in another show for the company in early 2012.Recently she was used in another event profiling the work of clothing designer Charlotte Ronson. The show was profiled, with pictures, in The New York Times!

As you can see our ladies spent the day rocking elaborate up-dos, down-dos, and fabulous Make up(-dos?). Representatives from the company set up a runway stage and applied their products to the girls live!

Barbizon Midwest…It Runs in the Family

Connor

Connor and Christian are talented, good looking, and…siblings? The two Barbizon Des Moines graduates are currently (and successfully!) pursuing acting careers. Together the brothers booked a national commercial campaign for AARP that aired in 2009 and since then have appeared in movies, hit TV shows, and short films.

Connor is best known for his appearance in Mother and Child (2009) staring Naomi Watts and Annette Bening. He had a guest role in the ICarly episode; IGot a Hot Room, as well as appearing alongside Glee’s Jane Lynch in Alex’s Halloween. You can also find him in Spring Sing, Showtime’s The Big C, and others!

Christian

Christian just landed a speaking role in the CSI: New York episode Justified, and can also be found on the independent film circuit in productions such as The History of Spaceflight, Ima, Out of the Water, and others.

Victoria was a Moline Barbizon graduate in 2010, and since then has had opportunities in California and New York. She says that “…all the things I learned at Barbizon come in handy everyday.” We here at Barbizon are so proud of all that she has accomplished, and look forward to seeing what her future has in store!

Someone's Been a Good Boy...at Barbizon Midwest!

Last year he got the part, and this year an award? Jeremy Torres, Barbizon Schaumburg graduate and Royal talent, landed a role in the 2010 Columbia College student film, The Christmas Tree. A drama centered on a family during the Holidays, the production went on to win Best in Show at the 2011 Weisman Award Exhibition!

Angel Kristi Williams directed the project as part of her Graduate Directing III class, and is of course pleased by its success. The Weisman Program provides production grants to select students with need for significant funding in order to complete a piece. The Christmas Tree is now anticipating a year of film festivals, and (fingers crossed!) more awards to come in 2012!

Victoria Addis of Annawan, a freshman at Illinois State University in Bloomington, is a model student.

The outgoing 18-year-old won Barbizon International's "Be a Star With Barbizon" contest this summer and will be featured in a full-page ad in Seventeen magazine's November issue for the Barbizon modeling and acting school.

"It was kind of nerve-wracking, but really exciting," Victoria said recently. She won an all-expenses-paid trip to New York City in July for her and her mom, Vanessa. (The rest of the family came along on their own dime).

After being picked from nearly 30,000 entrants in a national contest to be the new face for Barbizon, Victoria was given a $500 shopping spree and had her nails, hair and makeup done by professional artists before the promotional photoshoot at Seventeen.

"Around home, the only thing I get dolled up (for) is school dances, like homecoming and prom, and it was always just my mom and I. It was fun to have so many other people doing it for me," she said.

Seventeen promotion manager Tara Swansen said the panel of judges thought she was "the perfect Seventeen girl," with a great, energetic personality.

"We wanted to pick someone who was a fresh, new face," said Kelly Smith, marketing manager for Barbizon International. She said Victoria's photos will be used on all company marketing materials.

Ms. Smith said Victoria is amazing -- not only beautiful and talented, but "someone who really represents herself well, represents Barbizon well and represents Seventeen magazine. People at Seventeen were raving about her photo shoot."

The issue will be for sale from Oct. 18 through Nov. 21.

Victoria said she has been into acting and theater since fourth grade. She has appeared in the Circa '21 shows "Annie," "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" and "The King and I." She was Junior Miss Henry County Fair at 14, and this past year was first runner-up for Miss Henry County Fair.

"I'm not really sure what it is," Victoria said of her attraction to acting. "It's like pretending to be somebody else."

In the spring of 2010, she completed the six-month Barbizon program over weekends in Moline. This included training in acting, modeling and boosting self-esteem.

Her mother had heard about the Seventeen contest and sent in photos without Victoria knowing. She was chosen as one of 10 finalists and then had to send in more photos and information.

"I didn't think it would actually come out to be anything," Victoria said.

In June, she found out she had won. She and her family traveled to New York, where the magazine picked them up from the airport in a limousine, and they stayed two nights in Manhattan.

"It was unbelievable," Vanessa Addis said. "They fed us breakfast; she had hair and makeup done. It was all videotaped.

"At 11:30 the shoot began, and they took photos until 1 p.m. -- like over 3,000 pictures. It was awesome. It was absolutely awesome."

After a Barbizon director of operations saw the photos, she wanted Victoria to be seen by modeling agencies, so Barbizon covered most of the cost for her and her mother on a five-day Barbizon "Passport to Discovery" cruise in August to the Grand Cayman Islands and Cozumel. Victoria participated in several modeling competitions as well as acting and music auditions.

"It was really, really exciting," she said. "I met a lot of really cool people."

Vanessa Addis said Victoria met with agents for roughly three hours one morning. "She has opportunities in California, New York."

Ms. Smith said the director of the cruise program said they had to put her in front of agents. "It paid off for her; she got so many callbacks," she said.

Victoria also has received private coaching on her potential show-biz career from Kim Furness, president of Davenport-based Curtainbox Theatre Co. In college, she is a political-science major, plans to go to law school and may work in public relations.

"Surprisingly, all the things I learned at Barbizon come in handy every day," Victoria said. "I learned to be more social and come out of (my) shell. This is such a big school; I came out of a graduating class of 23 at home, and classes here have hundreds of students.

"The biggest part was confidence. The more I get to go out and meet so many people, it makes it easier to put myself out there for jobs."

Founded in 1939, Barbizon operates in more than 200 cities around the world. It helps students with personal development and offers college scholarships, Ms. Smith said. "It's really a well-rounded program. We're about empowering young women and men."

Victoria hopes to keep modeling and acting for the rest of her life, but not as a full-time job.

"I love it so much," she said. "They say, sometimes, don't do the thing you love the rest of your life, because it becomes more of a job. I just want to love it."

Barbizon Schaumburg Graduate and IMTA Talent Oana Gregory won preteen actress of the year and 1st runner up for preteen model of the year.

Oana recently did an interview with Aspiring Hollywood where she took the time to thank both Barbizon and IMTA.

Oana has done a lot of print work for both Billabong and Bratz. She has also been involved in doing fashion shows for big names such as Hillary Duff and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olson!

In the future she hopes to continue booking movies and print work, but her ultimate goal is to be in a television series.

Oana’s advice for aspiring actors and models, “Don’t give up! Give it your all and hope for the best!”

The Allen Park Michigan High School Senior says, " I was so surprised to learn I had won the scholarship. At first I couldn't believe it was true, then after my family and I spoke to Barbizon, I felt so lucky that my name was chosen out of all the entries."

This fall Meghan will attend Michigan State University to study Nursing. Other passions Meghan feels strongly about are issues of self-esteem improvement for young girls and suicide prevention among teens.

Lauren Storm, after graduating from Barbizon Schaumburg, has left her mark all over Hollywood! Lauren Storm starred with Hayden Panettiere in the 2009 Chris Columbus feature film "I Love You Beth Cooper".

Lauren was cast in a costarring role on "Grounded For Life". From there she went on to recur on "Boston Public". Lauren received nationwide attention for her role of Malcolm's girlfriend in the episode "Company Picnic" of "Malcolm in the Middle" which aired after the Superbowl in 2002.

Lauren has appeared in the films "The Game Plan" starring The Rock in 2007, "The Jerk Theory" and has a role in "The Roommate" coming out in 2011. She has guest starred on "7th Heaven", "CSI: Miami", "Joan of Arcadia", "24" and was cast as one of the stars of the NBC/Discovery Channel series "Flight 29 Down".

In her spare time, Lauren supports the Olive Crest Foundation, the Jonathan Jaques Cancer Walk, Ronald McDonald House, the LA Mission, Make A Wish and St Jude Children's Hospital.

Currently, Lauren lives in the Los Angeles with her parents.

Here is my story on my amazing experience with Barbizon!
Barbizon was such a life changing experience. Even from the first day, I met awesome people and was immersed in knowledge of the industry. I always looked forward to classes, it was my favorite time to come and learn about this new industry with other people like me. During our classes we would practice our modeling with movement and walking OR work on our acting by practicing scripts and improv games. As our relationships grew stronger and our knowledge of the industry was being broadened, we started preparing for our final graduation day with the runway show and the acting bits. As the day of the show arrived we were shaking with excitement as our moment came to shine with our newly polished talents. The graduation show was a life changing experience. I felt unstoppable walking down the runway with my new found confidence. The classes were such a great way to learn about the industry and meet new friends. Barbizon helped me break into the modeling industry full force. I have so much to thank Barbizon for, their classes and teachers ensured my success into the modeling industry. I am now under contract with two amazing modeling agencies, Factor Women Chicago and DNA New York. Barbizon jump started me in the industry I now call my career.

Below is a wonderful article written from our very own Barbizon Midwest Schaumburg teacher, Mary Launder. Enjoy :)

If you're interested in theatre, I suggest that you just get involved anyway you can (ushering, helping the house manager, box office, backstage help...). Throughout my career I have been involved in all the positions of the theatre - props master, costumes, stage manager, director, choreographer, usher, box office etc. I learned so much about the entire business that way and it helped me as an actor!!!

Also, you should try and see as much theatre as you can. Find out if you can volunteer to usher at your local theatre. I used to volunteer as an usher at Steppenwolf and Depaul University and many other theatres as well and have seen so many great plays and musicals for free!!!

You should research your area and find out all the community theaters, high school theaters, and theaters in your area. Find out what shows they are doing and if something seems appropriate to audition for than go for it and audition.

Some general places to look for work (paid and non paid - for the experience!!)
High Schools/Universities/Cruse Ships/Theme Parks/Community Theatres/Libraries/Theatres

For example I found out via the internet, that in Merrillville and the surrounding area, there are quite a few theaters: Reinhart Auditorium - located in Merrillville High School's Fine Arts Wing - is the home of Ross Music Theater - a local community theater group that produces two musicals each year.
Other theaters in the area are: Towle Theater in Hammond IN, Chicago Street Theatre in Valparaiso IN, Center for Visual & Performing Arts, Munster, Community Theatre Guild – Valparaiso, Dunes Summer Theatre - Dune Acres, Hammond Community Theatre – Hammond, Footlight Players - Michigan City IN, Marion Theatre Guild – Whiting, Munster (HS) Theatre Guild – Munster, Purdue Theatre Company – Hammond, Indiana University Theatre - Gary

Of course there are so many theatres in Chicago I couldn't possible list them all so check out these sites to see audition listings:

Connor Kramme is Unstoppable!!

Iowa may be known for farmers and corn stalks but Connor Kramme has found his way out of this field and into the limelight!

In 2010, Barbizon Iowa graduate Connor Kramme had a supporting role in the feature film "Mother & Child", starring Annette Benning, Naomi Watts, Jimmy Smits and Samuel L Jackson (Check out the trailer at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H87uMXAQzjc ).

Connor also had a lead in the Indy feature "Elena Undone" and received rave reviews of his individual performance!

Besides movie roles, Connor has made a name for himself by appearing in several commercial campaigns including a national network commercial for AARP.

Barbizon Milwaukee Graduate Receives $65,000 Scholarship at IMTA!

Crystal Varelis, graduate of the Barbizon Modeling and Acting Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, did well this year at IMTA...really well! Varelis won a scholarship at last year's IMTA modeling competition to study Musical Theatre at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, PA – valued at $65,000.

Upon graduating from Barbizon, the 16-year-old Varelis attended the 2010 International Model and Talent Convention (IMTA) in Los Angeles where she participated in a full slate of acting and singing competitions. Crystal’s hard work paid off and she surprised even herself by winning several awards, including the college scholarship.

“We are very excited for Crystal’s achievements,” said Michelle Bradley, Director of the Milwaukee Barbizon School. “She has been an inspiration to all of us and Barbizon is proud to have her as an alumnus.”

While there are numerous scholarships given at the IMTA Convention, this scholarship was the first ever award of its magnitude which was given to Ms. Varelis.

For those of you out there who don't know what Pilobolous is - get ready for an explosion of imaginative and athletic exploration of dance! Annika has had a long journey to get to where she is now, after she attended the Barbizon Schaumburg school near Chicago, IL - she studied at The Juilliard School for 4 years as one of their premier dancers.

After 4 successful years at Julliard, she joined their dance troupe. Pilobolus. Annika has had the privilege to perform all over the world and is currently performing at the Joyce Theatre in NYC, or as Ms. Keys would say "the concrete jungle".

Pilobolus is a Connecticut-based company of choreographers and dancer-athletes committed to developing three original works each year. Way to go Annika!

I would like to thank Royal Model & Talent for the many years of support to my son Alexander Ainoo. There have been auditions for movies and commercials as well. The real excitement came when Alex was actually cast as an extra for a movie and then a major role in a couple of commercials. He has appeared in print ads and fashion shows with Sears. Alex has also appeared in a commercial with the Big Ten College Football League for two consecutive years (Big Ten Fan Camp). The people at Big Ten love Alex and said that they will follow up with him in the future for projects. Alex recently appeared along side Larmarr Woodley of the Pittsburgh Stealers. Alex was an extra in a Ron Howard Movie, which was really exciting to be on the set of a movie. We have a great working relationship with Paige Ehlman, who is our contact for auditions and bookings. Alex also appeared on the agency’s post card for a couple of years and it was exciting to hear feedback from people that received those cards in the mail.

Also thanks to Royal, Alex was exposed to other agencies by appearing in a fashion show that was sponsored by Royal. Because of this connection, Alex has appeared in numerous print ads, Bible Baptist Press (vacation bible school books). The American Library Association (catalogs) and Alex was featured on a bill board for Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and a company documentary. This is just to name a few.

Thirteen year old Barbizon Midwest talent Brendon Eggertsen booked the role of Ariel in the new comedy film, “Just Go With It” starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston!

Barbizon "BRAGGER OF THE MONTH"

Barbizon Midwest has selected Ms. Katelyn Hartsell to be our December Bragger of the Month! Katelyn has reached out to Barbizon Midwest highlighting us on all her amazing achievements over the years. Keep reading because there is more bragging to do!

Katelyn is a Barbizon South Bend graduate that brings spunk and passion to the industry. She will soon be featured in the magazine “Supermodels Unlimited” (The Most Beautiful Edition), which will be released January 2011. “Supermodels Unlimited” is a bi-monthly magazine and the only publication on the teen and women's market that focuses on the entire beauty industry. Each issue is packed with fashion, health and beauty products, entertainment news, modeling advice, amazing photography, celebrities, fitness tips, beauty queens and talent competitions.

Katelyn has also qualified in the top 15 for the National American Miss Jr. Teen IN. She was one of the state’s finalists out of 85 other women!

Other achievements include being selected for auditions in Shakespeare plays around the Chicago area, competing in her high school’s speech team and being selected as a featured guest at Notre Dame University’s benefit for children with Down Syndrome.

Now a little something Katelyn wanted to say,

“Where to begin…Barbizon has changed my life in such a wonderful way! The classes have taught me to be proud of whom I am. From the first day, I knew it was a new beginning for me and for everyone else that was there with me! Barbizon should be a requirement for all teenage girls and boys! The teachers teach you self-confidence, pride and to be beautiful inside and out! On top of learning how to apply make-up as a professional and how to walk the runway, I have met people I will never forget! After a few classes, we all became a family and I still keep contact with everyone today! Barbizon has given me the opportunity to let my talents shine bright to others. I can’t thank Barbizon enough for allowing me to join their school and to make memories that will last forever! Thanks to Barbizon's classes, I will now be featured in the magazine "Supermodels Unlimited!” I can’t thank this school enough for allowing me to chase my dreams! Remember, a smile is worth a thousand words! Smile on!
