The Sound of Soul: Carolina Davis Live at the Ultra Lounge Chicago

Carolina Davis
Ultra Lounge Chicago, Feb. 17, 2013
We had the privilege of seeing Barbizon Midwest of Illinois Graduate, Carolina Davis, perform live last night at the Ultra Lounge in Chicago, IL. Not only is this young artist on the rise a classically trained R&B/Pop/Soul Singer; she writes, composes, and produces her own music.

Barbizon Midwest Review:Composer Carolina Davis Soulful Sound

From the moment the soulful singer took the stage over the delicate, yet haunting accompaniment of I Have Hate, she captivated the small, but devoted crowd that applauded her every move. For her 20 minute set Carolina's energy radiated through all 5 songs at the Ultra Lounge last night including: I Have Hate, Give Me Your Love, Do You Think of Me, Catching Feelings, and Carolina's Life.

Carolina Davis is not only absolutely stunning, she is a dynamic performer commanding the stage, making every phrase and every note count. The commitment of the vocalist to delivering the lyric is evident visually and auditorily.

No one could tell. But the publicity-shy songwriter offered not a bit of banter - she said "thank you" and introduced the next song.

Instead, the songs did the emoting.

Watch for yourself from this clip of Carolina performing Catching Feelings last night at the Ultra Lounge.

Can't get enough Carolina? Neither can we. Come out and see her perform at Bobby McGee's in Chicago Ridge on February 24, 2013. BUY TICKETS
